  i am 46 and have been a jw for only 6 years.

  i was doing ok until about a month ago.

  we were having an international convention and i heard the brother that had to pick up 2 of the members of the governing body had to get a background check done on him and his wife.

  Figure out the quickest, safest, most effective way to leave. And get out of there with the quickness. Life is short and the clock is ticking... Be grateful you only spent 6 years blinded by the cult.

  Cut the chord and have a happy life going forward!

  ( remember the convention showed its now ok to speculate / fantasize about these sort of things!).

  the 'new world' / 'paradise' is up and running...all ressurected ones are back, and pandas and lions are getting patted until they can't take it anymore.

  I was on a forum recently where some witness ladies went on for pages gushing about the convention.

  "oh the convention site was so clean"

  "jehovah is truly directing his organization"

  "we are so blessed"

  "we are the only diverse group of people in the whole world"

  blah blah blah

  So I asked "is being clean a sign that god is directing your group?", "is there any manifestation of the b.i.t.e. method (which i explained) being used in your organization?", "who decides who's disfellowshipped if a sin is committed?". And another woman asked "is there confirmation when you are officially a J.W.?"

  yep you guessed it.....'crickets' and finally "please go to jw.org for those answers."

  So, of course, I was left to answer all questions and give an effective UN-witness. roflmao

  My inactive (20+yrs now) dad and uber righteous elder/pioneer brother were in Home Depot the other day. Two JW "sisters" came over and gave hugs. While gushing about the convention they showed off their JW.org wristbands...roflmao. My dad said that my brother just gave a perfunctory "oh those are nice" comment and walked away to look for wood for his project... lol.
